Referral Fee Notice
Solicitors are permitted to pay referral fees to individuals or organisations who introduce clients to their firm.
Who do we pay?
We may pay a fixed fee to certain referrers, such as estate agents or accountants, when they introduce clients and the firm earns fees. All referral relationships arise from existing professional contacts, and we only receive referrals because referrers trust the service we provide.
Why tell you?
Our Professional Rules require us to inform you of any referral payments. You can find more information on the Solicitors Regulation Authority website: www.sra.org.uk.
How much is paid?
Your Engagement Letter will set out any referral fee relevant to your matter.
Do you pay more because of this?
No. We reassure you that you do not pay anything extra because we pay a referral fee. It simply means we receive less, not that you are charged more.
Will this affect your service?
No. Referral arrangements do not influence our advice or how we act for you. We always act in your best interests, and your information remains confidential unless you consent to disclosure.
We hope by addressing this information we can reassure you of the professional view this practice takes in all matters.
